About the Role:
The Director of Account Management and Operations for Programmatic is responsible for overseeing the client account management team and optimizing operational processes related to programmatic advertising campaigns. This role will involve strategic oversight, client relationship management, team leadership, and operational efficiency improvements to ensure high levels of client satisfaction and campaign performance. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, creative, analytics, and technology, to drive success across client accounts.
**This role is in-office 3 days a week out of our NYC HQ.
Key Responsibilities:
Account Management:
- Lead and mentor a team of 13 account managers and 3 ad operations associates, ensuring high levels of client service, strategic counsel, and operational excellence.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients as a trusted advisor on all programmatic advertising strategies and initiatives.
- Ensure clients’ programmatic campaigns are aligned with business goals and deliver measurable results.
- Work closely with clients to define campaign objectives, KPIs, and strategies for success.
- Oversee the presentation of regular performance reports and insights, adjusting strategies as necessary to maximize campaign outcomes.
Operations Management:
- Drive process improvements to streamline operations and ensure scalability and efficiency in account management workflows.
- Oversee the management of programmatic platforms and ensure best practices are followed across all campaigns.
- Collaborate with internal teams (sales and creative) to ensure smooth campaign execution and optimization.
- Lead the development and implementation of standardized operational procedures for the delivery of programmatic campaigns.
Team Leadership:
- Lead, motivate, and develop the account management and operations teams, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.
- Set clear objectives and goals for the team, monitor performance, and provide feedback and development opportunities.
- Ensure the team is well-equipped with the skills and resources needed to execute programmatic strategies effectively.
- Drive training and development initiatives to stay ahead of industry trends and evolving technologies.
Strategic Planning & Growth:
- Develop and implement long-term account strategies that drive client satisfaction and retention.
- Work closely with sales teams to identify opportunities for account growth and cross-sell additional services.
- Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in programmatic advertising and digital marketing.
Client & Campaign Performance Reporting:
- Ensure that campaign performance is tracked and reported with precision, providing actionable insights to clients for continuous optimization.
- Regularly review programmatic campaign performance, making necessary adjustments to drive optimal results.
- Work with the analytics team to leverage data to improve targeting, audience segmentation, and overall campaign success.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 15+ years of online advertising experience required
- 10+ years of experience in account management, operations, or related roles within programmatic advertising or digital marketing.
- 7+ years of team management experience required
- Strong understanding of programmatic media buying, RTB (Real-Time Bidding), DSPs (Demand-Side Platforms), and DMPs (Data Management Platforms).
- Experience leading teams, with proven success in mentoring, developing, and motivating high-performing individuals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data to make informed decisions that optimize campaign performance.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple accounts and priorities.
- In-depth knowledge of programmatic advertising tools and technologies (e.g., DV360, The Trade Desk, Yahoo).
- Experience in managing budgets, timelines, and client expectations.
- Knowledge of trends in digital advertising and programmatic media, with a passion for innovation and technology.

- Advanced understanding of data analytics and attribution models.
- Experience with campaign automation, optimization tools, and AI-driven programmatic solutions.
- Expertise in client reporting tools, dashboards, and data visualization.

The base salary range for this role is $165,000 to $190,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each specific candidate; including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, applicable certifications, and geographic work location. This may vary depending on living location and market rate.
