Job Description: Materials Compliance Product Manager/Consultant
We’re seeking a Product Manager with 5+ years of experience in materials or product compliance in the manufacturing sector (e.g., REACH, RoHS, 3TG, California Prop 65, EPR). You may have held this expertise as a software product manager, company compliance manager, or consultant and ideally have hands-on experience using compliance software platforms.
In this role, you will be the subject matter expert guiding how we design, build, and scale our materials compliance module. You’ll collaborate closely with customers, customer success, and engineering to create intuitive, high-impact features that make compliance seamless—and turn compliance data into a strategic advantage.
As Tracera grows, you’ll help define new product lines, shape the roadmap, and drive innovation across our platform.
How did Tracera come about?
Tracera is an AI-powered compliance data platform built for the manufacturing industry. We automate data collection from internal and external sources to deliver real-time, actionable insights for smarter decision-making and compliance. Our platform simplifies operational and value chain risk management by extracting, validating, and transforming critical compliance data—ensuring accuracy, transparency, and full auditability.
Founded in 2022 and backed by Bain & Company, Tracera is redefining how sourcing and compliance teams manage product, material, and supplier data.
Our mission is to transform supply chain data collection using AI, empowering sourcing and compliance teams with insights that were once out of reach—from AI-powered BOM analysis and REACH/RoHS/3TG compliance automation to forward-looking risk modeling that accounts for tariffs, recyclability, and climate exposure.
What will I be doing?
- Define Product Vision
- Collaborate with leadership and design partner customers to define a clear product vision that addresses the most critical pain points of material compliance teams.
- Prioritize MVP features and AI-driven capabilities that differentiate Tracera in the market.
- Establish success metrics and measurable outcomes for the MVP launch.
- Manage Product Development
- Own end-to-end product development for Tracera’s materials compliance module.
- Translate product vision into detailed requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Work with Engineering to prototype, test, and refine new features.
- Continuously prioritize based on impact, customer feedback, and market needs.
- Lead Customer Collaboration
- Serve as the main point of contact for design partner customers, managing communications, updates, and feedback loops.
- Define the roadmap for customer and supplier engagement as new capabilities roll out.
- Oversee onboarding, adoption, and usage tracking for pilot customers and suppliers.
- Ensure Platform Quality
- Lead QA efforts and oversee bug triage, prioritization, and resolution.
- Advocate for customers’ needs and ensure features deliver measurable value.
- Support seamless onboarding and continuous improvement of new functionality.
- Conduct Market & Competitive Research
- Monitor competitors, regulations, and technology trends to inform product strategy.
- Identify white spaces and opportunities for innovation within compliance data management.
- Determine pricing for the new module & features
Who are we looking for?
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in product or materials compliance (manufacturing, chemicals, or related industries).
- Direct experience using product/material compliance software.
- Bonus: Prior product management experience.
- Bonus: Exposure to AI-driven software or sustainability data platforms.
- Bonus: Experience in an early-stage or growth-stage startup environment.
