What makes this role exciting
The General Ledger & Expense Specialist will be responsible for various functions and tasks within the Finance team to support accurate and timely monthly reporting and compliance.
The role should help support Group adherence to financial regulations and standards, maintaining robust internal controls.
Continuous Improvement will be a key requirement, working directly with the Manager, Accounting Operations to achieve a culture of Finance Excellence in the Group.
Main responsibilities
Adherence in maintaining robust internal controls.
Support in the preparation of monthly management accounts (including but not limited to the below) with regard to performing transactional accounting activities:
Navan expenses
Fixed assets
Expense accruals
Recurring journals
Prepayments
Information sharing to third party accountants
Addressing basic queries and liaising with third party accountants
Balance Sheet reconciliation preparation
Key point of contact with local Accountants to provide accurate financial data on a timely basis, collaborating with local accountants for the maintenance local books and records.
Ensure accurate and robust Financial Balance Sheet reconciliations for some general ledger accounts
Support with ad-hoc projects.
Risk Assessment:
This may involve in supporting risk when coordinating with external advisors.
Continuous Improvement:
The role will work alongside the Manager, Accounting Operations to support with the implementation of technology improvement initiatives to create a Finance Centre of Excellence
Experience needed for this role
Proficient in the use of Microsoft packages, specifically excel, experience of Netsuite would be a benefit.
Experience in a multinational organization would be beneficial
Excellent attention to detail, takes ownership of tasks and completes them to a high standard
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret regulations and apply them practically across multiple jurisdictions.
Have a technology-based mindset when supporting the Manager, Accounting Operations in creating a Finance Centre of Excellence
