The Position
We are looking for a dynamic leader to join a well-established global software company as the General Manager.
The ideal candidate for this position has previous corporate management experience and a proven track record of effective team management and results-driven leadership. The GM reports to the Group Manager and is responsible for the organization's consistent achievement of its mission and financial objectives.
This remote position is available in both Canada and the United States.
Job Description:
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the organization and its vision by communicating a common purpose, driving growth, and inspiring and motivating people.
- Build and manage a leadership team overseeing core business functions (Sales & Marketing, Customer Care, Operations & Implementation, Software Development, Product Management, Finance, and Human Resources), comprised of both in-office and remote staff locally as well as internationally.
- Responsible for establishing and executing the sales & marketing strategy and growth initiatives.
- Drive sales division to increase new name customer acquisition and expand back to base sales in multiple regions.
- Define the product strategy, roadmap, and go-to-market plans in concert with the Product Management leader.
- Ensure clear Product Roadmaps are established, followed and adapted to respond to market needs
- Balance the investment in R&D with the investment in maintenance to maximize new name growth and retention of existing customers while ensuring a streamlined Customer Care and R&D operations
- Track Product Manager prioritization of R&D tasks and ensure that these are entered into the corporate system and prioritized and executed on by software developers
- Develop and implement short- and long-term strategies to ensure financial performance goals are met.
- Own the annual, quarterly and monthly revenue results/forecasts and costs and communicate with the Leadership team and the company as appropriate.
- Participate in the development of internal department policies and programs to support quality and growth.
- Direct Talent Management activities to ensure professional growth across the staff.
- Represent the company as required, including attendance at users’ conferences, industry events and corporate meetings.
- Manage client relationships and form trusting partnerships with stakeholders and leading customers.
- Partner with Volaris Group family of companies to energize and grow the company.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of people management experience preferred
- 5+ years of hands-on management of functions that included a combination of operations, development, strategic planning, business analytics, sales, marketing, and project management
- 5+ years senior leadership experience in the management of organizations of comparable size and mission
- Strong ability to organize effectively, delegate responsibility, solve problems quickly and communicate clearly.
- Leadership skills, including the ability to manage time effectively and handle both internal and external conflicts.
- Astute in cultivating and managing relationships toward a common goal, developing partnerships, and building teams.
- Experience in building revenue and expanding growth for businesses.
- Experience hiring and developing great people.
- Has passion and convictions and the innate ability to inspire passion in others.
- Communicates effectively both written and verbally.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years working in or serving both public and private sector customers.
- 5+ years leading a software development company or medium to large functional division within a software company.
- Experience working within a Constellation Software Business Unit.
- Experience working within a global/multination business.
